Is there a bad area of Rochester, NY. I need to find an area to live in and I need to keep my family safe.?
All of the houses in the burbs seem reasonable in price but the taxes are crazy. It looks like home are very inexpensive in Rochester but I don't know if its safe to live in Rochester. I work a ton of hours and my wife is pregnant with our 2nd child so she will be home alone alot. Is there an area close to but not in Rochester where the taxes are more reasonable. If not how is it living in the city.

i know rochester like the back of my hand. what are you looking for in addition to the safety issue. if you like the urban setting more than burbs then check out vicks park a and vicks park b. its the old horse race track. its in a trendy area with a lot of nice big old houses and the open air cafes that a lot of people like. the houses are more expencive there. but the quality of life is good there too. if you like the burbs type of living better. deep lots single family dwellings nice well kept yards and houses. basically the middle class bedroom community then check out thomas ave area. its near stutson street on the east side of the river. very nice place to live. i dont know for sure what the taxes are like ther. parts of irondiquoit are very nice. stay away from clifford ave, conkey ave, avd d, lake and lyell, ridgeway untill you get to greece, genesee, north goodman north of main, n goodman near the village gate is nice but its on the edge of a few rough neighborhoods. culver road near park ave is nice. cobbs hill is decent. the houses look nice but dont know much about quality of life. if you update your question with more specifics of what you are looking for, i can look at it again tomorrow and maybe give you some other ideas.

Shocks and struts are a no brainer for a DIYer. Have a set of basic tools (ratchet and combo wrench set), jack, jack stands, and a rent a spring compressor tool from a local parts supplier so you can change them out. Wouldnt hurt to search for a few BMW forums with procedures or even an instructional video on YouTube.

What is the best pizza restaurant to work at as a delivery driver in the Rochester Hills/Troy MI area?
I currently work for a pizza chain as a delivery driver and feel that I should be making more money/have more deliveries. I make $6 an hour, $.75 per delivery plus tips. Problem is we average one delivery an hour. So after gas I calculate that I'm barely making minimum wage. What chains might I make the most money at? I have no problem with taking phone orders, doing prep, cleaning, folding boxes, etc.

Well... "Kermit"... I'm familiar with the Rochester/Utica/Sterling Heights/Troy areas... You didn't say which pizza chain you work for?? There are SO MANY different pizza chains in the greater Metro Detroit area these days... I would just drive around during "peak" hours... and see which place seems busiest. I really like Papa John's pizza, but that doesn't mean that you are going to make more money working for them. Ya know... "Pizza Hut" is still the Biggest Pizza Chain right now... maybe give them a try. Does "Little Caesar's Pizza" deliver?? I know that their 5 dollar "ready-to-go" pizza is pretty popular, but I don't know if they deliver or not... I mean... we've got "Jet's", "Dominoes", "Hungry Howies", "Papa Romanoes", "Dolly's"... there are just so many places... Ya, drive around and see who seems to be doing the most business... or, even go inside and ask a manager what kind of money the delivery guy usually makes.

You might have to change intake manifold.. It is probable different

It will work on that engine, but that truck has a first gen computer on it, so no it will not work on that truck.

The original 2 barrel is also a Rochester. There are many companies who build some nasty working Quadrajets. I can tell you this in all honesty. Their isn't a Holley made that will give you better fuel economy and off idle tip-ins do to the small primary throttle bores and healthy accelerator pump. Just the ticket for a heavy truck on the street. There two books available on modifying Quadrejets in the speedwaymotors.com website.

I can't tell you how many people are left at Kodak Park. It's certainly significantly less than they used to have. They have been demolishing buildings to consolidate. Emissions are down for several reasons. There is less manufacturing going on there, and they have over the years established many emissions reductions/recycling programs. One of the main things that is still left there is movie film production.

I grew up in Greece, and it is overall a very good area. It is very close to the city, which makes for an easy commute for the most part. They are making many improvements to the town, adding new stores, restaurants, shops, etc, and they have really tried to improve Route 104. I no longer live there, but everytime I go home to visit there are more and more new things that I haven't seen. You will be close to the beach (probably within 15-20 minutes of Lake Ontario, possibly even closer depending on where you live). There are plenty of good apartment complexes, and you can get a decent house for a good price if budget is an issue. If it is not, they are building new subdivisions with larger homes as well. Greece is a good place to live in my opinion, and a great place to raise a family. The suburbs on the east side of the city (Fairport, Pittsford, Penfield) are generally considered to be a bit "ritzier"...they tend to have more expensive houses and things like that, but I don't really know a whole lot about them overall.

I live in the Park Ave area in Rochester and it is very nice. I have lived in this area for seven years. If you are looking to buy a house, this may not be your area, but if you are looking to rent an apartment, this area is safe, diverse, and there are a lot of young people. Greece is nice too. My boyfriends parents live there. It all depends on renting or buying. The park ave area is expensive to buy in, but not bad to rent in. I live in a cute 1 bedroom for $700/month. Plus all of the nightlife (if you are into that) is close. Park Ave is like a mile from downtown, so anything you want is nearby. Greece is a suburb, but there is also a lot there too. There is a mall, and lots of stores and restaurants. If you choose to reside in the city limits, do your research. The south east part of Rochester is really the only safe place to live. There is a cresent around downtown where there is an extremely large amount of crime and the only area that it doesn't cover is the South east. Every place else, you have to deal with shootings and getting robbed, etc. I would to Park ave if you are new to the area because it is a good place to meet people. A lot of college students, young professionals, and neat people. Greece is nice, and quieter, but you will have to get on the expressway to get to anything you want to do. Hope this helps. All of the suburbs are nice, with the exception of some parts of Irondequoit. Look at Craigs list at apartments in Rochester. Good luck!
