Good/Fair $$$ Mechanics that do work on BMW's in the Rochester, NY area?
Especially work on struts and shocks?

Shocks and struts are a no brainer for a DIYer. Have a set of basic tools (ratchet and combo wrench set), jack, jack stands, and a rent a spring compressor tool from a local parts supplier so you can change them out. Wouldnt hurt to search for a few BMW forums with procedures or even an instructional video on YouTube.
